Missed a free Epic game? Can you still get it?

No, not for free. Once the free window closes, the game goes back to its normal price. Here's what Epic says, whether missed games ever come back, the same rules on Steam and GOG, and what you can still claim today: Sorry We're Closed, Gladiator: Blades of Fury, Balloon Strike, Epic World - Hunt For Quest, Quiztopia: The Ultimate Trivia, Highway Driving, Dark Mystery, Horse Racing, Funtoon's World, Horror Adventure, Math Fun, Maze - The Amazing Labyrinth, Mountain Racing, Super Kids Racing - Mini Edition on Epic.

Updated . We check every morning.

Short answer

No. Once Epic's free window closes, the game goes back to its normal price and you can't claim it for free anymore. Epic's help center says you must claim it within the promotion period, and support can't add it for you. Some games do come back as freebies later (Sorry We're Closed was free for a day in December 2025 and is free again now), but Epic doesn't announce repeats in advance. Still free to claim on Epic right now: Sorry We're Closed, Gladiator: Blades of Fury, Balloon Strike, Epic World - Hunt For Quest, Quiztopia: The Ultimate Trivia, Highway Driving, Dark Mystery, Horse Racing, Funtoon's World, Horror Adventure, Math Fun, Maze - The Amazing Labyrinth, Mountain Racing, Super Kids Racing - Mini Edition.

📜 What Epic says

  • "Free promotions have a limited duration. To add the game to your library, you must claim it within the indicated period." Epic suggests watching for future free promotions instead (Epic help).
  • Epic Player Support has no extra information about past or future free games, so asking support won't get you a missed game (Epic help).
  • If you did claim it in time, it's yours to keep even after the promotion ends (Epic Store FAQ). If you think you claimed it but can't see it, it's usually on another account: free Epic game not showing in your library.

🔁 Will it be free again?

  • Sometimes, but don't count on it. Repeats happen. Sorry We're Closed was a 24-hour holiday giveaway on Epic on December 21-22, 2025, and it's free to keep on Epic again this week.
  • Epic never announces a repeat ahead of time. It reveals the next week's free games each Thursday, so you get about a week's notice at most (next free Epic game).
  • A game you missed often turns up in a big sale instead. Add it to your Epic wishlist to see when it's discounted.

🎮 Missed one on Steam, GOG or itch.io?

  • Steam: same rule. A free-to-keep Steam game is only yours if you clicked Add to Account before the offer ended, and Steam doesn't notify your wishlist about free offers (how to claim free Steam games).
  • GOG: giveaways run for a few days from the homepage banner. Claim it while it's up and it stays in your library, DRM-free (how to claim free GOG games).
  • itch.io: 100% off sales end on a set date. Claim it to your account while it's free (how to claim free itch.io games).

⏰ How to never miss the next one

  1. Claim the moment you see it. You don't have to download anything, just click Get and Place Order at $0.00 (how to claim free Epic games). You can even do it from your phone (here's how).
  2. Remember the swap time: Epic's weekly free games change every Thursday at 10 AM CT (11 AM ET, 8 AM PT) (in your time zone).
  3. Watch the surprises too. Epic sometimes adds extra free games mid-week, outside the Thursday swap, and Steam, GOG and itch.io giveaways can start any day.
  4. Get FreeGG's free daily email. Every morning it lists every free-to-keep PC game with its end time, so a short giveaway can't slip past you.

🎁 Still free to claim right now (20)

Coming next on Epic: Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms (from Thu Nov 5, 10:00 AM CT), Flotsam (from Thu Nov 5, 10:00 AM CT).

FAQ

Can I still get a free Epic game after the promotion ends?

Can Epic support give me a free game I missed?

No. Epic's help center says free promotions have a limited duration and the game must be claimed within the indicated period. Player Support has no extra information about past or future free games.

Do Epic free games ever come back?

Sometimes. Sorry We're Closed was free on Epic for 24 hours on December 21-22, 2025 and is free again in late October and early November 2026. But Epic doesn't announce repeats in advance, so the safest move is to claim every free game while it's live.

I claimed it but it's not in my library. Did I miss it?

Probably not. Check Transactions in your Epic account. Epic says a claimed free game is yours to keep; if it's missing, you may have claimed it on a different account, for example one created with the Google login button or a console login.

How do I make sure I never miss a free Epic game?

Claim it as soon as it's live (just Get and Place Order at $0.00, no download needed). Epic's free games change every Thursday at 10 AM CT, and FreeGG's free daily email lists every free-to-keep PC game with its end time each morning.
