Check Transaction History first. If the $0.00 order is there, you own it and the launcher just isn't showing it. If it isn't, you're probably on a second account. Short answer

Usually you're signed in to a different Epic account, or the launcher is hiding your library. Open Transaction History on the account you're signed in to: if the $0.00 order for the game is there, you own it, so restart the Epic Games Launcher and make sure Hide Game Library is unchecked in Settings. If there's no order, the claim didn't go through, or it went to another account (Epic's FAQ says logging in with the Google button creates a separate account from your Gmail-and-password one). 🔎 Step 1: Did the claim actually go through?

  1. Sign in at epicgames.com › Account › Transactions. Epic says every purchase, including a free claim, shows in your account's Transaction History.
  2. Order is there: you own the game. It's a display problem, so go to Step 3.
  3. No order: you're on the wrong account (Step 2), or the claim failed. Open the game's store page: if it doesn't say In Library, click Get, then Place Order at $0.00 while it's still free.

👤 Step 2: Check you're on the right account

  • Gmail address? Epic's FAQ says to sign in with your Gmail address and Epic password. Using the Sign in with Google button creates a different account, even for the same address.
  • Console login? If you ever signed in through PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo, you may have a console-linked account as well as a separate Epic account (Epic Games Store FAQ).
  • Claimed on your phone? Use the same login on your PC (claiming from a phone).

🖥️ Step 3: Make the launcher show it

  1. Restart the Epic Games Launcher and open Library again.
  2. Click your profile icon (top right), then Settings, and clear the Hide Game Library checkbox. Epic says a hidden library is the most common reason you can't see it (Epic help).
  3. Still missing? Quit the launcher fully, rename the Saved folder in %localappdata%\Epic Games Launcher to Saved.bk, and reopen it (Epic help).
  4. The library only exists on PC and Mac. The Epic mobile app shows mobile games only.

⛔ If Epic won't let you claim it at all

Epic's help article on problems redeeming a free offer suggests, in order:

  • Try a different device, or a browser in incognito mode.
  • Claim in a web browser instead of the launcher.
  • Turn off your VPN, and make sure the country on your Epic account matches where you are.
  • Try a phone on mobile data with Wi-Fi off.

How do I check if I claimed a free Epic game?

Sign in at epicgames.com and open Account, then Transactions. A successful free claim shows as an order there. The game's store page also says In Library once you own it.

I signed in with Google and my free games are gone. Why?

Epic's FAQ says the Sign in with Google button creates a separate account from an Epic account made with the same Gmail address and a password. Sign in with your Gmail address and Epic password to see the games you claimed there.

Can I still get a free Epic game I missed?

No. Once the free window ends, the game goes back to its normal price. Epic swaps its free games every Thursday at 10 AM CT, so claim before then.
